What the section contains
Shoshonea
The plant is found exclusively in the state of Wyoming, USA, primarily in the Absaroka Range. It grows on rocky limestone substrates at high elevations, which makes it extremely demanding regarding environmental conditions.
Biologically, Shoshonea is adapted to harsh alpine environments. Its habitat is limited to high-altitude tundras, characterized by low temperatures and a short growing season.
In its natural habitat, the plant prefers well-drained, gravelly soils with a neutral to slightly alkaline pH. It does not tolerate waterlogging and requires excellent aeration for its root system.
It should be noted that Shoshonea is not an agricultural crop in the industrial sense. It is a wild-growing species that is primarily of interest to botanists and conservationists dedicated to protecting rare plant species.
