Successful seed germination requires a stable soil temperature between 20–25 degrees Celsius. It is optimal to use seedling trays with a light, nutrient-rich substrate that ensures good oxygen access to the emerging roots.

Pricking out the seedlings is performed once the first two true leaves have developed. Transplanting to open ground is only possible after the threat of frost has passed, which typically corresponds to the end of May or early June.

When sowing, it is important not to bury the seeds too deep, as they require sufficient light to germinate. It is sufficient to lightly cover them with vermiculite or sand, maintaining constant surface moisture.

Selecting a site for planting should consider the plant's final dimensions, so it is recommended to maintain a distance of at least 20–30 centimeters between specimens to ensure adequate ventilation for the plants.

Celosia nitida originates from tropical regions, making it highly demanding regarding sunlight. For full flowering and vibrant foliage color, it requires maximum direct sunlight throughout the day.

The soil for cultivation must be fertile, structural, and have a neutral to slightly acidic pH level. Avoid areas with heavy clay soil that retains water, as this is destructive to the root system of this species.

The plant shows high sensitivity to excess moisture, so the presence of quality drainage is critical. During the period of active growth, the crop must be watered moderately, avoiding waterlogging in the root zone.

The plant responds positively to regular applications of complex mineral fertilizers. Feedings should be conducted during the growing season every two weeks, opting for formulations with minimal nitrogen content to prevent excessive green mass growth at the expense of flowering.

Temperature is a key factor for success: when the temperature drops below 10–12 degrees Celsius, the plant's development practically stops, and prolonged exposure to cold can lead to plant death.

One of the primary problems in growing Celosia is damping-off, particularly during the young seedling stage when excess watering and poor ventilation occur.

In open ground conditions, the crop can suffer from aphid infestations, which suck sap from young shoots and inflorescences, weakening the plant's immunity and promoting secondary infections.

Spider mites pose a significant threat during periods of prolonged dry and hot weather. Their presence can be identified by a characteristic fine webbing and leaf deformation, requiring the immediate use of acaricidal agents.

To prevent fungal diseases, it is necessary to strictly follow agricultural regulations: ensuring sufficient spacing between plants and avoiding stagnant air inside the plantings.

In case of pest detection or the first signs of disease, it is recommended to treat with specialized biological products, which allow for the control of pathogen populations without significantly compromising the plant's decorative qualities.
