Wheat Jannis

Why "Janis" is the Choice for Professional Intensive Farming

German breeding from Saatzucht Streng-Engelen has long established itself as a benchmark for stability, and the "Janis" winter soft wheat is a prime example. This variety was developed for farmers who prioritize not only yield potential but also predictable results under fluctuating climatic conditions.

Agronomic Foundation and Resistance

The key differentiator for "Janis" compared to its competitors is its comprehensive "armor" against diseases. In regions with high infection pressure, the variety demonstrates excellent resistance to:

• Helminthosporium;
• Yellow and brown rust;
• Septoria (leaf and glume blotch);
• Fusarium head blight;
• Powdery mildew.

This level of phytosanitary protection allows for a significant reduction in the frequency of fungicide applications, which directly impacts the grain production cost.

Design and Development Features

"Janis" winter wheat is characterized by high lodging resistance, which is a critical factor in intensive farming technologies involving high nitrogen fertilizer rates. The awnless ear and its physiological development ensure uniform ripening, simplifying harvesting logistics. This variety is ideal for farms with a highly productive agro-background where maximum return on investment per hectare is required.

Who is this variety for?

"Janis" is optimal for agricultural enterprises practicing intensive farming methods. It is not just a standard variety for marginal soils; it is a powerful tool for obtaining high-quality commercial grain. If your priority is reliable protection against leaf pathogens and the confidence that the crop stand will remain upright even in adverse weather, this is a strategically sound choice for your crop rotation.
