Winter wheat is one of the most important food crops in Ukraine and around the world. Wheat grain contains all the necessary elements for human life, including proteins, carbohydrates, minerals, and vitamins. Proteins and gluten are especially important, as they determine the quality of the grain and its nutritional value. Due to its cold resistance, wheat can germinate at soil temperatures as low as 1-2°C, and the first sprouts appear within 5-6 days after sowing. The optimal sowing period occurs when the average daily air temperature is 14-17°C. Vesta variety seeds are certified Canadian varieties adapted for cultivation in Ukraine. They are characterized by high yield, frost resistance, drought tolerance, disease and pest resistance. Vesta belongs to winter wheat varieties with a seeding rate of 150 kg per hectare and high germination rate of 97-98%. Seeds are packed in branded bags of 20 kg, ensuring ease of storage and transportation. Due to their cold resistance, these varieties withstand low temperatures at the tillering node depth down to -19...-20°C, and under a snow cover of 10-15 cm, temperatures can drop to -35...-40°C. Vesta wheat also demonstrates good resistance to short-term heat, with temperature increases up to 35-40°C under adequate moisture. However, growth of dry matter ceases above 40°C, which is important to consider when selecting growing conditions. High yield and adaptability of the variety make it attractive for both farm operations and private farmers seeking high-quality and stable wheat harvests.
