TULAIKOVSKAIA GOLDEN — a soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) variety developed by individual selection from the hybrid of Tulaikovskaya 5 and Albidum varieties. The variety was registered in 2005 and intended for cultivation in the Middle Volga, Lower Volga, and Ural regions. The plant is characterized by an erect stem up to 1 meter high and a pyramidal white ear 6–7 cm in length with medium density. The grain is elongated, white, with a long awn, with 1000-grain mass ranging from 29 to 42 grams. The vegetative period is 85–95 days.
The variety is distinguished by high drought tolerance and lodging resistance, making it a reliable choice for regions with variable climatic conditions. TULAIKOVSKAIA GOLDEN possesses excellent bread-making qualities due to its protein content of 14–15% and gluten content of 25–35%. It is moderately resistant to brown rust, slightly affected by powdery mildew, however, it is highly susceptible to powdery and solid head smut.
The average yield of the variety in the Middle Volga region is about 25 c/ha, which exceeds the average standard by 1 c/ha, while maximum indicators reached 40.7 c/ha. The variety is successfully cultivated in various zones, including the post-Ural steppe, pre-Ural steppe, and southern forest-steppe zones, which confirms its adaptability and stability in grain production.
