STEPNA NIVA

The winter wheat variety "Stepna Niva" is an intensive and universal variety designed for cultivation in various agro-climatic conditions, especially in steppe and forest-steppe zones. It is characterized by a xeromorphic structure, which ensures high adaptation to arid conditions. The plants are medium-tall, with a height of 96 to 112 cm, and possess high productive tillering – from 616 to 816 stems per square meter. The ear is large, well-filled, and contains 62 to 82 grains, which contributes to a high yield, reaching 7.9-10.2 tons per hectare. The vegetation period is about 285 days, the variety is medium-early, ripening simultaneously with the Antonovka variety.

"Stepna Niva" is distinguished by high resistance to adverse factors: frost hardiness, winter hardiness, drought resistance, and heat resistance are rated at 8-9 points out of 10. The variety also has moderate resistance to lodging and shattering, and regarding diseases, it demonstrates tolerance to stem and brown rust, powdery mildew, and yellow dwarf virus of barley. Due to these qualities, the variety is reliable under various growing conditions and ensures stable yields.

The grain quality of the "Stepna Niva" variety is high: the mass of 1000 grains varies from 36.2 to 44.4 grams, protein content is 13.2-14.1%, gluten – 29-33%, and flour strength reaches 452-515 arbitrary units. The variety responds well to nitrogen fertilization, which allows increasing productivity with an optimal crop rotation. It is recommended to place it on non-rotary predecessors with regular sowing dates and norms, which makes it convenient for agro-technical operations in steppe regions.
