Genetic potential and adaptability of the "Stan" variety

Developed by NUBiP of Ukraine, the "Stan" soft winter wheat variety is a specialized solution for farmers focused on stability in unpredictable phytosanitary conditions. A key feature of this variety is the balance between morphological compactness and high field resistance to pathogens.

Phytosanitary profile and crop protection

The agronomic value of the "Stan" variety is largely determined by its ability to resist the most aggressive cereal diseases. Its genetic resistance to leaf rust and septoria significantly reduces the need for pesticide application during the growing season. Under high-humidity conditions, the variety demonstrates high resistance to:

• Mycosphaerella leaf spot;
• Plant rust;
• Powdery mildew;
• Brown spot.

Such comprehensive immunity is a result of targeted breeding by NUBiP, making "Stan" a predictable choice in terms of fungicide management costs.

Morphology and vegetation

The variety is characterized by medium plant height, ranging from 70 to 100 cm, which ensures optimal lodging resistance without the need for excessive use of growth regulators. The growing season is highly flexible, ranging from 210 to 270 days, allowing farmers to adapt sowing schedules to specific climatic zones in Ukraine.

The grains of the "Stan" variety possess standard characteristics for soft winter wheat, with a 1000-kernel weight in the 35–40 gram range. This provides good germination energy and ensures uniform emergence even under moderate soil and climatic stress.
