Wheat SONATA POVTAVSKA

Breeding Excellence by SVC Yarovit

The winter wheat variety "Sonata Poltavska" is a result of extensive research conducted by Ukrainian breeders. Developed by a team of experts including Mykola Dubenets, Anatolii Ischenko, and their colleagues—Olha Dinets, Iurii Kotelevskyi, Mariia Batashova, and Volodymyr Tyshchenko—this variety is engineered to thrive within the diverse climatic conditions of Ukraine. Their combined expertise has resulted in a crop that balances high output potential with resilience against abiotic stressors.

Agronomic Characteristics

"Sonata Poltavska" is designed for growers aiming for consistent and high-yielding results. Key technical specifications include:

• Crop type: Winter wheat.
• Vegetation period: 260–280 days.
• Plant height: 90–100 cm, ensuring structural integrity.
• Yield potential: 9–10 tons per hectare under intensive farming practices.

The moderate plant height contributes to excellent lodging resistance, a critical factor for maintaining yield quality during adverse weather conditions. The extended vegetation period allows the wheat to effectively utilize soil nutrients and moisture accumulated during the autumn and winter months, leading to optimized grain development.
