Description Re236
Sorghum is an annual or perennial cereal plant belonging to the winter cereals. Its origin is considered to be the regions of East Africa, where it was first cultivated as early as the 4th century BC. In terms of global production, sorghum ranks fifth among cereal crops. The plant is heat-loving and requires a temperature range of 25-30 °C for normal growth, although frost can lead to its death. However, sorghum is highly resistant to drought, pests, and diseases, and possesses a well-developed root system. It is not demanding in soil composition and can grow on various types of soil, including loamy, sandy, and clay soils.

For successful sorghum cultivation, regular weed control is necessary, especially on less fertile soils, where additional fertilization is also required. The plant is rich in beneficial substances and vitamins, making it valuable for both fodder and food purposes. An important aspect of sorghum crop care is the application of effective herbicides for weed control.

The herbicide Achiба is a selective systemic agent intended for post-emergence application and control of grassy weeds, including species such as Bromus spp., Avena fatua, and Sorghum halepense. The active ingredient, cyclohexanedione-ethyl, at a concentration of 50 g/l, provides gentle action on crop plants while being highly effective against previous cereal weeds. The preparation rapidly decomposes in soil with a half-life of approximately 7 days, allowing its use in crop rotation without risk of toxic accumulation. The recommended dosage of the herbicide ranges from 1.0 to 3.0 L/ha depending on the crop and weed development stage.
