MELANA is a variety of hard spring wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) recommended for cultivation in the Orenburg region and included in the State Register for the Ural region. The plant is of medium length with a semi-erect bush, characterized by a strong waxy coating on the flag leaf blade and head. The head is pyramidal, white, of medium density, with black awns that are longer than the head. The mass of 1000 grains is 35-42 grams. The vegetative period of the variety is medium-early - 74-86 days, ripening slightly later than the variety Tverdinya and earlier than Bezenchuk 210. Yield in the Ural region reaches an average of 17.6 ц/ha, with maximum figures up to 41.7 ц/ha in the Kurgan region. The variety is resistant to lodging but highly susceptible to ergot and has weak susceptibility to root rots, smut and brown rust.
In addition, MELANA is known as a dietary supplement in the form of a powder of dried sprouted wheat, which retains all the useful substances of young shoots. This product is rich in vitamins A, E, C and group B, as well as trace elements - zinc, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, iron, selenium and vanadium. High chlorophyll content contributes to enriching the blood with oxygen and reducing inflammatory processes in the body.
Sprouted wheat powder MELANA has a positive effect on cleansing the body, removes waste and toxins, reduces the level of harmful cholesterol and sugar in the blood, which facilitates the condition in diabetes. It promotes the resolution of benign and malignant formations, strengthens the immune system, stabilizes metabolism, improves the condition of skin and hair, as well as contributes to improved vision. Thus, MELANA combines both the agronomic advantages of the hard wheat variety and the useful properties of a dietary supplement of sprouted grains.
