Sofiyka

Sofiyka is a medium-maturing winter wheat variety recommended for cultivation in the Polissia, Forest Steppe, and Steppe regions. It features medium plant height ranging from 85 to 115 cm and a universal type, ensuring good adaptation to various climatic conditions. The yield potential of this variety reaches 9–11 t/ha, and the protein content in grain varies from 13.5% to 14.5%, indicating high product quality. The thousand-grain weight is 39–42 g, which is an indicator of seed material density and quality.

The Sofiyka variety is characterized by high resistance to a range of diseases and stress factors, including lodging, shattering, root rot, septoria, fusarium, brown rust, and powdery mildew. Such resistance allows for reduced yield losses and increased production stability. Additionally, the variety responds well to optimal forms of mineral nutrition, which helps maximize its potential when proper agronomic practices are applied.

The recommended seeding rate is 4.5 to 6.0 million viable seeds per hectare, with optimal sowing times occurring in the second half of the optimal period for the region of cultivation. Thanks to its characteristics and adaptability, the Sofiyka variety is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high-quality wheat yields in various agroclimatic zones of Ukraine.
