Wheat Registana

Genetic potential of spring wheat from Selgen

Czech breeding is traditionally focused on finding the optimal balance between intensive growth and adaptability to variable climatic conditions. "Registana" is a spring wheat variety that acts as an "insurance policy" in crop rotation, allowing for predictable yields even when sowing is constrained by a tight spring window.

Technical analysis of features

• Stem architecture and resistance: A key engineering solution in this variety is its straw morphology. Exceptional lodging resistance is achieved through a low center of gravity and increased stem tissue rigidity. For agronomists, this translates into reduced harvest losses and the ability to apply high doses of nitrogen fertilizers without the risk of crop lodging.
• Development type: "Registana" is classified as spring wheat, which requires the variety to complete early growth phases rapidly. Selgen breeders have prioritized a fast, bushy development type that allows for efficient utilization of early spring moisture while the root system is still establishing.

Practical field experience shows that this genetics performs best on fertile soils, where the plant's intensive metabolism finds the necessary resources to realize its high spike potential. High tolerance to lodging simplifies harvesting logistics, ensuring the crop remains upright even under adverse weather conditions at the end of the vegetative cycle.
