VASYILCHUK REMEMBRANCE

The Vasilychuk Remembrance spring hard wheat variety is a medium-maturity type of the Hordeum genus, developed by FGBNU «Southern-Eastern Agricultural Research Institute». The ear of this variety is cylindrical, large, with a density of 23-25 spikelets per 10 cm of ear axis. The grain is large, white (amber), with a 1000-grain mass ranging from 40 to 48 grams. The glume is of medium size, with distinct nervation and a lanceolate shape. The variety is characterized by high resistance to brown leaf spot, viral infections, powdery mildew, and loose smut, and is not affected by 'black seedling'. Vasilychuk Remembrance exhibits high competitiveness and yield, exceeding the standard variety Krasnokutka 13 by an average of 1.9 centners per hectare over the period 2015-2019. Average yield in growing regions reaches 26.2 centners per hectare. The variety is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including the Western Siberia region, Altai Territory, the Western Steppe zone of the Orenburg region, and the Ural region. It possesses medium resistance to lodging and drought, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions. A special merit of the variety is the high quality of gluten, confirmed by an SDS-sedimentation indicator at 48 mm and gluten strength of 57-70 IDK-1 units. The mixographic assessment of dough thinning resistance reaches 10 points. Thanks to these characteristics, the Vasilychuk Remembrance variety is recommended for the production of pasta, cereals, and baby food, highlighting its versatility and high nutritional value.
