The winter wheat variety MATCHBALL is distinguished by high productivity and cold resistance, making it especially valuable for cultivation in the forest-steppe and Polissia regions of Ukraine. The potential yield of this variety reaches 12 tons per hectare, while actual yields on Ukrainian fields vary from 7 to 10 tons per hectare. The variety is characterized by medium stem density and high thousand-grain weight, contributing to its high productivity. MATCHBALL is adapted to various sowing dates — from early to late — ensuring flexibility in agronomic practices.
One of the key features of this variety is its high cold resistance, rated at 9 points, as well as resistance to lodging (8 points). Additionally, the variety exhibits resistance to diseases such as rust, powdery mildew, and fusarium, which contributes to stable yields. However, it should be noted that the variety has low tolerance to certain diseases, including leaf septoria, yellow rust, and head fusarium, requiring careful monitoring and timely plant protection.
MATCHBALL is presented as whole wheat, preserving all components of the grain in their natural form. This grain is suitable for sprouting, preparing nutritious porridges and vegetarian dishes. Sprouting grains helps convert proteins and fats into beneficial fatty acids and increases fiber content, making the product especially valuable for proper and healthy nutrition.
