Syngenta's hybrid sugar corn, SI Impulse, is a medium-early dent hybrid with a FAO of 280, well-adapted for cultivation across various climatic zones in Ukraine, including the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe. This hybrid features vigorous growth and high yield, making it an attractive choice for farmers seeking stable and high results even under stressful growing conditions. The average number of rows per ear is 16–18, and starch content reaches 75%, ensuring high grain quality.
SI Impulse exhibits high resistance to major diseases such as ear and stalk rot, as well as excellent drought, cold, and lodging resistance. Its early development rate and grain moisture release are rated 8–9, facilitating effective use of agronomic practices. Recommended planting density varies depending on soil moisture: 70–80 thousand plants per hectare under adequate moisture, and 45–55 thousand under limited moisture.
Special attention should be paid to the feed quality of this hybrid. High levels of lutein, zeaxanthin, carotene, and xanthophyll in the grain improve animal feed quality, particularly in poultry farming. Using this hybrid for poultry fattening results in eggs with enhanced quality and richer yolk color without the need for artificial pigments. Stay Green-type plants maintain green forage mass over a longer period, positively impacting feed nutritional value.
