KRYZHYNKA

Kryzhynka is a variety of soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) belonging to the medium-early group, with a vegetative period ranging from 265 to 306 days. The plants are of medium height, ranging from 76 to 108 cm, featuring a cylindrical ear of medium density and a white color. The grain is oval-egg-shaped with a shallow furrow and a 1000-kernel mass of 38 to 49 grams. The variety is characterized by good winter hardiness, which is above average, as well as resistance to lodging and drought at the same level or slightly above the standard. The bush is intermediate, with moderate waxy bloom on the upper internode and weak bloom on the ear and sheath of the flag leaf. Kryzhynka is recommended for cultivation in the regions of the forest-steppes and Polissya, and is suitable for sowing on fertilized non-fallow predecessors, half-fallow land, and on saline soils using medium-intensive and extensive technologies. The sowing rate is 4.5-5.0 million viable seeds per hectare. The variety responds well to an increase in nitrogen fertilizer dosage, which contributes to increased yield. Average yield in various regions is about 31-38 ц/га (c/га), with maximum indicators reaching 85.5 ц/га. Kryzhynka possesses high baking qualities and resistance to a number of diseases, including brown rust, powdery mildew, loose smut, septoria, Fusarium, and root rot. Under field conditions, powdery mildew infection was very weak, which confirms the variety's resistance to stress factors. Thanks to these characteristics, Kryzhynka is a valuable wheat, providing stable and quality yields in various agroclimatic conditions.
