The hybrid corn Blade, developed jointly by the Institute of Grain Crops of NAAN Ukraine and LLC "Rost Agro", is a simple mid-season hybrid with FAO 300, intended for cultivation in various agro-climatic zones of Ukraine. Plants reach a height of 230-235 cm, have cylindrical, long ears 22-23 cm in length with 16-18 rows of orange, dent-shaped kernels with red stripes. Ear attachment height is 90-95 cm, and 1000-kernel weight is approximately 310 g. Seeds are treated with fungicidal protectants Maxim XL and Vibran, providing additional protection during early growth stages.
The Blade hybrid exhibits high drought, lodging, and resistance to major diseases such as gray and dusty smut, as well as corn borer. It also demonstrates herbicide tolerance, contributing to effective phytosanitary control of crops. Due to its high plasticity, the hybrid consistently shows high grain yields, averaging 8.31-9.45 t/ha, with maximum yields reaching 14.95 t/ha on irrigated fields. Recommended planting density varies by cultivation zone: 50-55 thousand plants/ha in the Steppe, 70-80 thousand in the Forest Steppe, and up to 90 thousand in the Polissia.
Blade is versatile in use, suitable for both grain and silage production. Its grain has low moisture content at harvest (12.5-18.3%), facilitating storage and processing. The hybrid is recommended for cultivation in Kherson, Poltava, Odesa regions and other areas of Ukraine, where it demonstrates high productivity and adaptability to local conditions. Thanks to its combination of high yield, stress and disease resistance, and superior grain quality, Blade is a reliable choice for farmers seeking stable and high yields.
