CHIKO

CSIKO wheat is a high-yielding winter variety recommended for cultivation in the forest-steppe and Polissia regions of Ukraine. It is distinguished by high winter hardiness and drought resistance, ensuring stable growth and yield even under adverse climatic conditions. The variety belongs to the intensive type, which requires adherence to specific agronomic practices to achieve maximum potential.

CSIKO is characterized by medium maturity and high resistance to lodging and shattering, significantly reducing yield losses. Diseases such as powdery mildew, rust, and leaf septoria affect this variety to a minimal extent, contributing to the preservation of grain quality. The 1000-grain weight is 43.1 g, the grain density is 764 g/L, and the overall glassiness reaches 94%, indicating high raw material quality.

The grain of the CSIKO variety has a high content of crude protein (16.9%) and crude gluten (30.0%), ensuring excellent baking properties: flour strength is 177 arbitrary units, bread volume is 650 cm³, sedimentation index is 75 ml. To obtain high yields and quality grain, it is recommended to sow early with a seeding rate of 5.5–6.0 million viable seeds per hectare and a sowing depth of 3–5 cm, followed by firming. An important condition is conducting 2–3 treatments against pests and diseases, as well as ensuring high levels of mineral nutrition.
