Blagodarka Odeska

Blagodarka Odeska wheat is an autumn-sown variety developed by the Selection-Genetic Institute of NAAN Ukraine and registered in the plant variety registry since 2009. It is intended for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine, including irrigated and intensive farming conditions. Plants are medium-height, ranging from 97 to 102 cm, with a thousand-grain weight of 48–52 g. The variety is distinguished by high yield, reaching 115–120 centners per hectare, making it attractive for farmers focused on obtaining high and stable yields.

One of the key features of Blagodarka Odeska is its high winter hardiness and drought resistance, rated at 7–8 points, as well as good resistance to lodging (8–9 points). The variety shows resistance to major wheat diseases, including rust and stem rust, powdery mildew, which significantly reduces the risk of yield loss. These qualities make the variety a reliable choice for cultivation under challenging climatic conditions.

The grain quality of this variety meets the requirements for strong wheat: protein content ranges from 13.7 to 15.1%, and gluten content from 29.9 to 31.2%. This ensures high nutritional value of the grain, suitable for both food industry and animal feed. Blagodarka Odeska responds well to application of mineral fertilizers, allowing increased productivity under intensive cultivation technologies.
