Shlyakhetnyy is a winter hard wheat variety of universal type, developed through complex interspecific and intraspecific hybridization of winter and spring wheat varieties and forms, both hard and soft. The plant is medium-height, 95–105 cm tall, resistant to lodging, ensuring reliable yield under various weather conditions. The variety belongs to the steppe and forest-steppe eco-group and is recommended for cultivation on the best predecessors, such as black soils and fallow lands, grain legumes, perennial grasses, vegetable and melon crops, provided with adequate water and mineral nutrition. Shlyakhetnyy is characterized by high yield: on steppe zone trial plots, it reached 5.89–7.89 t/ha, and in forest-steppe areas — 9.12–10.5 t/ha, which is 8.5–9.6% higher than the average standard. The variety has medium cold and winter hardiness (6–7 points) and high drought resistance (7–9 points). It also exhibits increased resistance to common diseases, including various types of scab and powdery mildew (8–9 points), brown rust (7–8 points), stem rust (6–8 points), and powdery mildew (6–7 points). The grain quality of the Shlyakhetnyy variety is high: grain density is 792–806 g/l, protein content — 14.8–15.5%, crude gluten — 27.7–31.9%, and gluten deformation index reaches 95 conditional units. The grain has high glassiness (95%) and 1000-seed weight of 43.5–47.3 g. These characteristics make the variety attractive for food industry use, as well as for animal husbandry and other sectors. The Shlyakhetnyy variety represents a reliable and high-yielding choice for agricultural production under various climatic conditions.
