Wheat variety Blagodatna is a high-yielding and quality variety developed by the Selection-Genetic Institute of NAAN of Ukraine and registered in the variety registry since 2009. It is ideally suited for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine, demonstrating stable productivity, medium height, and resistance to drought and frost. The variety is characterized by high yield, reaching up to 120 centners per hectare, making it profitable for agricultural production.
The wheat grain of Blagodatna is characterized by high protein content (11–15%, average 13.7–15.1%), B and E vitamins, lysine, and phosphorus, which is especially important for animal feeding. The grain quality meets the requirements for strong wheat, with high gluten content (29.9–31.2%) and flour strength (390–474 a.a.a.). Moisture content does not exceed 15%, contributing to its good storage quality and preservation.
The main application of Blagodatna wheat is in livestock feed compound feed production. Due to its high nutritional content, it is a valuable component of feed mixtures promoting animal growth and development. Despite relatively high purchase prices in the Blagodatne region, they remain lower than average in Ukraine, making this variety attractive for farmers and compound feed producers. This wheat variety is not intended for human food consumption.
