Maize Davenport

Stable yields in the early-maturing segment

French breeding from RAGT is known for its plasticity, and the «Davenport» hybrid is a prime example. With a FAO of 250, it fits perfectly into the strategies of farms where obtaining commercial grain with low moisture content before the onset of prolonged autumn rains is critical. This simple hybrid with flint-dent grain characteristics has established itself as a reliable workhorse for regions with temperate climates.

Practical application scenarios

Experience shows that «Davenport» performs best in intensive and semi-intensive farming technologies. The primary objective for choosing this hybrid is to minimize drying costs. Thanks to its genetics, the hybrid features a high rate of moisture release, allowing agronomists to effectively plan harvest logistics.

• Sowing dates: High early-growth vigor allows «Davenport» to be sown in early optimal windows, as soon as the soil warms up to 8-10°C.
• Soil and climate adaptation: It performs excellently on fertile chernozem soils while maintaining stability under the moderate stress typical of forest-steppe zones.
• Harvesting technology: The grain type facilitates the threshing process, minimizing mechanical damage, which is crucial for long-term storage.

If your operation is seeking a balanced solution for high-quality corn grain that does not require overly complex management, RAGT «Davenport» is a predictable addition to your crop rotation. It is the choice for those prioritizing proven French breeding with a focus on rapid dry-down and stable yields within the FAO 250 class.
