Arista

Arista — a mid-early winter wheat variety characterized by high yield potential and winter hardiness. It has high adaptability to adverse growing conditions, making it suitable for various agroclimates, particularly in steppe and forest-steppe zones. Early grain filling prevents thinness in drought-prone areas, and its compensatory type allows successful cultivation both early and at optimal sowing times.

The Arista variety is characterized by high productivity with yields ranging from 8.8–10.7 t/ha and a genetic potential up to 12 t/ha. The vegetation period lasts 278–282 days, with plants of medium height (95–100 cm), having a stiff, awnless spike 10–11 cm long. The grain is red, elongated, with 1000-grain weight of 42.0–48.3 g. The variety exhibits high resistance to lodging, shattering, and germination on stems, as well as field resistance to fungal diseases.

The grain quality of Arista meets the requirements of strong wheat: flour strength is 320–380 N, gluten content is 25.5–31.1%, protein content is 12.9–14.1%. The overall bread quality rating is 4.8–5.0 points. The variety is also known for enhanced cold-hardiness, drought and heat tolerance, and regenerative capacity, ensuring its resilience under extreme growing conditions. Arista is suitable for cultivation after non-wheat crops and is one of the newer varieties introduced in 2018.
