Aranca — a high-yielding Czech winter soft wheat variety, suitable for cultivation in all climatic zones of Ukraine, including arid regions. This semi-early variety features a medium stem height of 80-90 cm, semi-erect plant habit, and strong medium-thickness straw, providing good resistance to lodging. The ear is white in color, cylindrical in shape, with red, medium-sized kernels. The variety belongs to the erythrospermum group and is registered in the Variety Register for the Polesie, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe zones. Aranca exhibits high disease resistance, but under adverse weather conditions, fungicide protection and application of plant growth regulators at the late tillering stage, when sufficient moisture is available, are recommended. The variety does not shatter and tolerates drought well, which is particularly important for Ukrainian conditions. The optimal sowing period is March, with early February sowing windows possible; however, yield decreases if sown later (second half of April). Best preceding crops include legumes, perennial grasses, and most field crops, although it can also be sown after cereals. The potential yield of this variety is 80-90 centners per hectare, while actual yield typically reaches 43.9-46.3 centners per hectare. The 1000-seed mass varies from 43 to 45 grams; the recommended seeding rate is 180-200 kg/ha (4.5-5 million germinating seeds per hectare). On poor soils or late sowing, the seeding rate should be increased to 220-250 kg/ha. Regarding baking properties, Aranca belongs to class 'A', with protein content in grain ranging from 12.7-14.1% and gluten content from 24-31.7%. The variety is classified as food wheat and is suitable for producing high-quality flour.
