Wheat Akasha

Danish breeding in action: a reliable choice for winter wheat

When working with winter wheat, the main challenge is managing phytosanitary risks before they spiral out of control. In practical terms, yield on paper means little if the crop fails to withstand a wet season or a delayed fungicide application. Here is how this variety performs in the field.

A robust defense against diseases

The variety excels in resisting:

• Mycosphaerella blight and brown spot — it remains healthy even under high humidity.
• Powdery mildew and root rot — the plant maintains its vigor from the seedling stage through to heading.

Harvest efficiency and lodging resistance

What operators will appreciate most is the variety's resistance to lodging. In seasons with heavy rain and strong winds, 'Akasha' stands firm.

The Danish breeding team at Sejet Planteforaedling I,S clearly designed this for intensive farming. It’s not a 'high-maintenance' crop; provided you follow basic fertilization and standard protection practices, it delivers consistent results. It effectively utilizes the growing season, producing a full, high-quality ear without unnecessary drama. For a farm focused on reliability and ease of harvest, this is a workhorse you can count on.
