SI Marimba is a mid-early hybrid corn with FAO 240, intended for cultivation in the Polissya and Forest-Steppe regions. The hybrid is characterized by high yield potential and early maturity, enabling early and stable harvests even under unstable moisture conditions. Kernel type — dent, starch content 72–75%, making it suitable for grain use. Seeds are treated with Vibran and Fors Zea, providing protection against pests and diseases.
One of the key features of SI Marimba is its high cold tolerance (9 points), allowing sowing at optimal early dates when soil temperature is +9...12 °C. The hybrid is also drought-tolerant (7 points), has rapid water release (8 points), and high initial growth rate (8 points). Erectoid leaf placement type reduces light competition between plants, enhancing photosynthesis efficiency. Additionally, the hybrid is resistant to root and stem lodging, reducing grain losses during mechanical harvest, and exhibits high resistance to root and stem rot (9 points) and to head smut (8 points).
To achieve maximum yield, it is recommended to maintain optimal planting density depending on moisture availability: 60–70 thousand plants per hectare under sufficient moisture, 50–60 thousand plants per hectare under unstable moisture. The hybrid responds well to high fertility, ensuring good return on fertilizer investment and enabling high early yield.
