Compana — a mid-early variety of vegetable pea, intended for freezing and canning. Peas at technical maturity have a dark green color and exhibit high flavor quality. Pods mature uniformly, typically within 52 days after sowing. Pods are large, up to 8 cm long, with a sickle-shaped form, containing 6 to 9 sweet seeds. Plant stems reach a height of 45–50 cm, making it convenient for cultivation and harvest.
The variety has good cold tolerance and can germinate at soil temperatures as low as 4 °C, with optimal growth temperature around 18 °C. Recommended seed sowing depth is 4–5 cm, with a seeding rate of 20–25 g per square meter. Adequate moisture, especially during flowering, is crucial for forming a high-quality crop.
Compana is resistant to several diseases, including Fusarium oxysporum race 1 and powdery mildew, enhancing its reliability for cultivation. Seed production takes place in the Netherlands, guaranteeing high-quality planting material. Due to its characteristics, this pea variety is suitable for both commercial cultivation and home gardening.
