Early 301 is an early-maturing variety of shelling green peas that reaches technical maturity on average within 60-65 days from full germination. Plants of this variety have a height of about 70 cm and are characterized by abundant flowering and synchronous pod maturation. The pods are bright green, straight or slightly curved, 6-8 cm long, and contain 5 to 7 sweet peas with high sugar content, making them particularly tasty and suitable for fresh consumption. Peas are excellent for home cooking, canning, and freezing.
The variety is distinguished by good resistance to powdery mildew and other fungal diseases, which facilitates care and increases harvest reliability. Early 301 is a cold-hardy and sun-loving crop, requiring moisture, preferring loamy and sandy-loam soils with neutral acidity. Seeds germinate at temperatures from 4 to 6 degrees Celsius, allowing this variety to be grown in cooler climatic conditions.
In addition, Early 301 boasts high yields: up to 1.2 kg of pods and 0.5 kg of shelled green peas per square meter. Due to its ability to fix nitrogen in the soil, this pea improves soil fertility and serves as an excellent predecessor for subsequent crops. Regular selective harvesting allows obtaining fresh pods of optimal size, making the variety convenient for growing both on an industrial scale and at home.
