Eggplant MURZIK

Technical Overview of the 'Murzik' Eggplant

Developed by the team at 'Agrofirma Aelita' (Nastenko N.V., Kachaynik V.G., Kandoba A.V.), the 'Murzik' eggplant variety is specifically engineered for outdoor cultivation. The breeding focus was on achieving a stable yield and maintaining consistent morphology under field conditions.

Physiological Characteristics and Performance

The variety requires a period of 80–90 days from transplanting to reach technical maturity. This growth cycle classifies 'Murzik' as a mid-season cultivar, designed to balance biological development with the challenges of open-field environments. The key to successful cultivation lies in managing the transition from nursery-grown seedlings to open-soil exposure.

• Fruit Morphology: The oval shape is designed for optimal interior density, minimizing the risk of internal voids and ensuring structural integrity.
• Yield Metrics: With an average weight of 200–300 grams, the fruits meet the primary requirements for both retail distribution and culinary processing, offering high biomass efficiency.
• Skin Pigmentation: The deep dark-violet color indicates high anthocyanin content, which directly correlates to better shelf life and resistance to handling damage during logistics.

For growers, the 'Murzik' variety offers the predictability expected from an 'Agrofirma Aelita' product. The technical success of this hybrid depends on precise agrotechnical practices, including appropriate solar exposure and irrigation. By focusing on maintaining the plant's structural health during the 90-day growth window, producers can maximize the consistency of the 200–300g fruit weight range. Selecting original genetics from 'Agrofirma Aelita' ensures the purity of the crop, providing a stable foundation for the harvest.
