The vegetable pea variety Dragon (Oscar) is an early-maturing variety with a vegetation period of 50-55 days, allowing for harvest in a short time, especially in southern regions. Plants reach a height of 65 to 80 cm, forming long, slightly curved pods about 9 cm long with a pointed tip. Each pod contains 10 to 12 large, uniform dark green peas with high sugar content, giving the product excellent taste qualities.
The Dragon variety is characterized by high and stable yields, reaching 7-10 tons per hectare, as well as resistance to viral diseases and fusarium wilt. It adapts well to heavy soils and is suitable for both manual and mechanical harvesting. The recommended seeding rate is up to 120 kg per hectare, with an optimal planting scheme of 20 by 6 centimeters.
This pea is versatile in application: it can be used for fresh consumption, freezing, and canning. Thanks to its commercial and taste qualities, as well as resistance to diseases, the Dragon variety is a popular choice among vegetable growers. The producer of this variety is the company Semo from Czech Republic, which guarantees high seed quality and stable characteristics.
