Marafonec is an early-ripening eggplant variety that matures 105-110 days after seedling emergence. It is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and under film coverings. The plant has a semi-stem structure and medium height, which ensures convenient care and harvest collection. The fruits have a cylindrical shape, reaching a length of 25-35 cm and a weight of 400-600 g. They have a thin, glossy, and purple skin, while the flesh is dense, light-colored, and does not contain bitterness, making this variety particularly attractive to consumers.
The yield of the Marafonec variety is 5.4-5.8 kg per square meter, which is a good indicator for eggplant varieties of this type. To obtain a high and quality harvest, it is recommended to follow agricultural techniques: sowing for seedlings is carried out at the end of February – beginning of March, pricking out – at the stage of one-two true leaves. Seedling planting under film coverings is done in mid-May, and in open ground – at the beginning of June, with a distance between plants of 60х40 cm. During the fruiting period, 5-6 of the largest ovaries are left on the plant, and the rest of the flowers and ovaries are removed.
For successful cultivation of the Marafonec variety, timely watering, regular weeding, soil loosening, and feeding with mineral fertilizers are necessary. Due to its characteristics, this variety is suitable for culinary processing, canning, and market sales, making it universal and in demand among gardeners and farmers.
