SALINERO is a vegetable pea variety intended for canning and freezing. It belongs to early-maturing crops; the period from mass emergence to the first harvest is about 58 days. The plant features short stems without fasciation, green leaves with a greyish tint and a waxy coating. Flowers are white with a concave shape at the base of the sail. Pods are dark green, about 8 cm long and 1.4 cm wide, with 5 to 9 pods forming on the plant, each containing 6-7 wrinkled seeds with starch grains of complex structure. The mass of 1000 seeds varies from 150 to 200 grams, and the tasting score reaches 5 points. The commercial yield of the variety is 48 centners per hectare.
