Vegetable Pea Trophy

Stable Pea Yields: Why Professionals Choose “Trophy”

In the vegetable pea segment, Danish breeding from DLF (Dlf Beet Seed Aps) has long been synonymous with reliability. The “Trophy” variety is a specialized tool for farmers planning conveyor-belt harvests who need predictable results, regardless of spring weather fluctuations.

Agronomic Advantages

The primary advantage of “Trophy” is its synergy of high pod productivity and robust innate immunity. In intensive vegetable farming, pathogens often account for losses of 30-40%. However, “Trophy” demonstrates exceptional resilience against major threats:

• Integrated Defense: The variety shows high tolerance to Fusarium, Ascochyta, and powdery mildew, allowing for a significant reduction in fungicide applications during the growing season.
• Root Health: Its high resistance to root rot makes this hybrid an ideal candidate for fields with a history of soil-borne diseases.

Yield Characteristics

With a vegetation period of 60-70 days, “Trophy” is classified as a mid-early variety. This allows producers to manage their sowing schedule with precision. The pod metrics are impressive: lengths range from 6 to 9 cm, with each pod containing 7 to 10 large, uniform peas. The Thousand Kernel Weight (TKW) of 120-140 grams ensures a high density and excellent market value for the final product.

Who Should Use This Variety?

“Trophy” is an optimal choice for both fresh-market farmers and processing plants that require consistent quality and sizing. Because it requires fewer chemical interventions, it fits perfectly into the business model of farms aiming to reduce production costs while adhering to sustainable farming practices. While it demands attention to soil moisture during the initial growth phase, its superior disease resistance makes it a highly reliable and profitable asset for the modern grower.
