Vegetable pea variety Trophy is a mid-season hybrid of Dutch selection intended for open field cultivation. The maturity period ranges from 64 to 72 days, allowing for harvest at optimal times. The plant reaches a height of about 70-75 cm, possesses high cold hardiness and plasticity, ensuring active growth even under unfavorable climatic conditions. Pea Trophy forms two pods per node, with the lower pod attached at a height of 13 cm from the ground. The plant's flowers are white, and the pods are dark green, straight, measuring 6 to 9 cm in length, and contain 7-9 grains.
The variety is distinguished by high resistance to various diseases, including root rot, fusarium, ascochitis, and powdery mildew, and is also drought-tolerant. Thanks to these qualities, pea Trophy is not prone to lodging and shedding, which helps preserve the yield and facilitates its harvesting. The mass of 1000 seeds is about 120 grams, and the sugar content in the grains reaches 6%, giving the product a pleasant taste and nutritional value.
Pea Trophy is widely used both in fresh form and after culinary processing. It is suitable for retail, canning, and freezing, making it a versatile product for various applications. High content of vitamins, proteins, and carbohydrates makes this variety a valuable source of nutrients that promote healthy eating.
