Early Dutch selection pea variety Design, developed by Hazera, intended for cultivation in open ground. The plant is compact, reaches an average height of about 70-75 cm, and forms up to 13 nodes before the first flower blooms. Each node contains 2-3 pods, 8-10 cm long, each containing 8-9 large, firm, and tasty dark green peas. The pods are elastic and free of tough fibers, ensuring high-quality produce suitable for fresh market and processing.
The Design variety is characterized by high yield and disease resistance, especially to fungal disease Fop1. It tolerates sudden changes in weather conditions, making it a reliable choice for spring and summer crops, as well as for cultivation under temporary plastic coverings. The maturity period is 45-55 days, and the thermal units required for full maturity are about 740°C. The yield is distinguished by excellent taste and market appearance, good storage and transportability.
Pea Design is suitable for both manual and mechanical harvesting, facilitating its use in various agrotechnical conditions. The recommended planting rate is 2-3 kg per hundred square meters. Due to its characteristics, this variety is widely used for fresh market sales as well as for culinary processing, making it a versatile and in-demand vegetable product.
