Tulip Toronto

Tulip Toronto is one of the best late-blooming varieties, belonging to the multi-flowered tulip class and the Graaff group. This variety features large flowers with a wide base, a slight curve in the middle, and curled petal tips. From one bulb, several flowers grow in a bouquet: one large, one medium-sized, and several small ones, which gives the plant exceptional decorative appeal. The flower color is coral-pink with a dark base, and the cup's base is light yellow. The flowers have a pleasant fragrance, and the leaves are green with fine contrasting stripes. The plant height ranges from 15 to 30 cm, making it suitable for various planting styles. Tulip Toronto is excellent for use in alpine gardens, rock gardens, and container cultivation. Its sturdy and low stems provide stability to the plant, while its vibrant color and unique flower shape make it attractive for landscape design and indoor decorative arrangements. The flowers are well-suited for cutting, expanding their application in floristry. For planting, choose sunny spots and plant bulbs in groups of five or more, maintaining a planting depth of 8–12 cm and spacing between bulbs exceeding their diameter by twice. The variety is versatile and adapted to neutral or slightly acidic soils. The flowering period falls at the end of April to May, extending the garden’s blooming season. Tulip Toronto pairs well with other multi-flowered tulips in contrasting shades and blue hyacinths, creating bright and harmonious floral compositions. Thanks to its characteristics and decorative qualities, this variety is an excellent choice for lovers of original and striking plants.
