Tulip Towa

Durability and Disease Resistance

The Greigii tulip cultivar 'Towa' is engineered for reliability in garden settings. Its defining characteristic is a compact, low-growth habit, which provides exceptional resistance to lodging. Unlike taller varieties, 'Towa' stands firm against heavy spring rain and gusty winds, eliminating the need for tedious staking or corrective maintenance throughout the season.

Field Performance

From an operator's perspective, 'Towa' is a low-maintenance asset. The variety has been bred with a robust biological defense system, significantly reducing the labor and input costs associated with disease control. It shows proven resilience against three major threats to bulb vitality:

• Alternaria blight: significantly reduces the risk of leaf spotting and premature foliage die-back.
• Verticillium wilt: ensures the root system remains vigorous across various soil moisture levels.
• Fusarium wilt: exhibits high resistance to basal rot, which is crucial for the long-term preservation of bulbs.

With a mid-season bloom time, 'Towa' fits efficiently into your horticultural calendar. The vivid red petals possess high color fastness, maintaining their aesthetic impact without fading under early seasonal sun exposure. The plant's architecture simplifies both the planting phase and the post-flowering cleanup process, making it a pragmatic choice for organized garden management.
