Tulip Topwhite

Optimizing production with Topwhite: A focus on reliability

The Triumph tulip variety 'Topwhite' is a staple for professional greenhouse operations that prioritize predictable yield and consistent quality. This variety is specifically managed to achieve high-quality cut flowers in mid-season cycles, minimizing the risks associated with common soil and airborne pathogens.

Disease resistance as a strategic advantage

Integrating Topwhite into your rotation helps reduce dependency on heavy fungicide programs due to its robust natural resistance profile:

• Root and vascular health: High resistance to Fusarium and Verticillium allows for safer production cycles even in reused greenhouse beds.
• Viral resilience: Strong resistance to Tobacco Mosaic Virus minimizes the risk of crop loss due to tissue necrosis, which is a common failure point for less hardy cultivars.
• Cladosporium defense: The foliage remains clean and intact even in high-humidity environments, ensuring that the plant directs all energy toward bud development.

Operational efficiency and market value

Topwhite is prized for its uniform growth and consistent mid-season flowering time. The medium stem height is perfectly optimized for standardized harvesting equipment and packaging lines, making it an efficient choice for large-scale operations. From a retail perspective, the crisp, clean white color of the petals provides high market demand for various floral arrangements. Growers favor this variety because it maintains a firm, compact bud structure throughout the transport phase, significantly reducing the percentage of discarded flowers upon arrival at the marketplace. For managers seeking a balance between low-maintenance requirements and high-grade final product, Topwhite remains a benchmark variety in the Triumph class.
