Tulip Lingerie

Aesthetics and Resilience: The Lingerie Fringed Classic

The Lingerie variety has firmly established itself in the segment of mid-season fringed tulips. Its recognizable appearance—soft pink petals with distinct 'needle-like' fringe along the edges, transitioning into pure white at the base—has become a benchmark in decorative gardening. Its medium-height stem makes it a versatile solution for both landscape compositions and commercial cut flower production.

Technological Potential and Disease Resistance

For professional growers, the key advantage of Lingerie is its genetically anchored resistance to common pathogens. Selective breeding has achieved high survival rates in both open field and greenhouse environments:

• Tobacco mosaic virus;
• Fusarium wilt;
• Cladosporium;
• Late blight (Phytophthora).

This robust immune protection significantly reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications, making the variety more economically viable for long-term cultivation.

Market Positioning

Lingerie is not an experimental novelty; it is a time-tested variety aimed at the florist market, where post-cut longevity and exquisite flower shape are paramount. The plant demonstrates consistent growth metrics when standard agronomic practices for mid-season bulbs are followed. It is the preferred choice for those seeking a balance between aesthetic appeal and reliable planting stock, minimizing the risks of mass fungal infection.
