Tulip Tom Pouce

Reliable Classics: Why Tom Pouce is a Professional Choice

In the early-blooming Triumph tulip segment, this variety holds a special place due to its consistency. For an operator involved in forcing or landscape design, the key factor is the plant's manageability. Tom Pouce is low-maintenance: the sturdy, medium-height stem holds the flower head perfectly, requiring no additional staking even in strong winds.

Agrotechnical Resilience

One of the main challenges in bulb cultivation is pathogen protection. Tom Pouce shows strong resistance to several common diseases, significantly simplifying the processing of planting material. The variety reliably resists:

• Verticillium and Fusarium wilt;
• Tobacco mosaic virus;
• Cladosporium.

Such genetic resilience reduces the need for heavy fungicide application, allowing the grower to focus on irrigation and temperature control rather than constantly battling fungal outbreaks.

Visual Characteristics and Handling

The variety's color palette is a harmonious blend of delicate pink and vibrant yellow, maintaining saturation throughout all stages of blooming. Its early peak of attractiveness makes Tom Pouce a highly liquid product at the start of the season. In terms of logistics and cutting, the medium height is optimal: the tulips are easy to transport without damage to the packaging and stay fresh for a long period after being cut. It is a reliable workhorse that forgives mistakes for beginners and demonstrates consistently high profitability for experienced growers.
