Tulip Toplips

Reliability in the Field: Operating with Toplips

Selecting a variety for commercial production comes down to balancing beauty with durability. 'Toplips' is a late double tulip that offers a significant operational advantage: superior genetic resistance to common soil-borne pathogens. By choosing this variety, you reduce the reliance on intensive fungicide programs, effectively lowering the cost per stem while maintaining high output.

Key Operational Advantages

• Resilience to Pathogens: Built-in resistance to Verticillium wilt, Fusarium wilt, and Cladosporium rot means fewer losses during the growing season. This ensures predictable yields and consistent quality.
• Viral Resistance: Being resistant to Tomato Mosaic Virus is a major plus, as it mitigates the risk of crop failure and reduces the need for constant monitoring and chemical intervention.
• Robust Architecture: The short stature of the plant is not just an aesthetic feature—it provides stability against wind, reducing the risk of lodging in outdoor conditions.

From an operator's perspective, 'Toplips' is a straightforward, low-maintenance choice. It responds reliably to standard growing protocols, allowing you to manage your labor and equipment cycles efficiently. The distinct red and white color scheme, combined with its high disease tolerance, makes it a commercially stable option that fits perfectly into mid-to-late season harvest schedules without requiring high-cost specialized maintenance.
