Tulip Tibet

Structural Parameters and Vegetation Cycle

The 'Tibet' tulip belongs to the Triumph class, a hybrid group known for combining early flowering traits with the robust structure of Darwin hybrids. For growers, this translates to a stable, classic goblet shape and dense petal tissue, which is essential for commercial viability.

Pathogen Resistance and Phytosanitary Health

A key technical advantage of this hybrid is its built-in genetic resistance to the primary pathogens that typically jeopardize bulb production. Field data confirms that 'Tibet' exhibits strong resilience against:

• Fusarium oxysporum (Fusarium wilt) — significantly reducing the risk of basal plate rot.
• Root rots — the plant’s vascular system maintains integrity even under challenging moisture conditions.
• Common smut (Ustilago maydis) — strong metabolic stability prevents deformities during temperature fluctuations.

This genetic profile allows for a reduced fungicide application regime, which directly optimizes production costs and improves the quality of the final bloom.

Morphology and Market Utility

With a medium plant height, 'Tibet' offers an ideal balance between stem strength and nutrient distribution. The pure white color of the petals, combined with a mid-season flowering schedule, makes it a versatile tool for high-demand market windows. The 'Triumph' type goblet maintains its shape and turgor throughout the supply chain, ensuring high durability for cut-flower logistics.
