Tulip Tikibad

Stability and Classics of the Greigii Class

The 'Tikibad' tulip has firmly established its position among the breeding achievements of the Greigii group. Unlike taller hybrids, this variety focuses on compactness and durability, which has defined its popularity in both professional landscape design and private gardens. Its low stature and robust root system allow it to withstand windy conditions, where more delicate varieties often lose their ornamental appeal.

Agronomic Advantages

A key factor in choosing 'Tikibad' for many commercial growers is its genetic resistance. Breeders have achieved a high threshold of immunity to pathogens that traditionally plague tulip plantations:

• Fusarium Wilt: The variety shows a minimal infection rate even in high-soil-moisture conditions.
• Tobacco Mosaic Virus: 'Tikibad' maintains the purity of its petal color, showing no signs of the virus-induced breaking or mottling.
• Cladosporium: High tolerance to leaf spot diseases reduces the need for intensive fungicide applications.

A Visual Accent for the Garden

Its mid-season blooming window allows 'Tikibad' to serve as a bridge between early botanical tulips and late-blooming Triumph varieties. The saturated orange color of the petals adds depth to flower beds, while the short stem makes this tulip an ideal solution for foreground borders, rock gardens, and container planting. It is a reliable choice for those seeking a balance between aesthetic impact and ease of maintenance.
