MAGIC ALYSSUM

Magic Alyssum is a decorative plant growing from 50 to 80 cm tall, which attracts attention with its large pink flowers measuring 7–10 cm in diameter. The plant features an upright and branched structure with a rounded stem, while the leaves are approximately 5×5 cm in size and slightly hairy. Flowers appear from July to September; the number of flowers on one plant can reach up to thirty, creating a bright and prolonged blooming period lasting about 90 days.

Alyssum exhibits sun-loving characteristics and resilience to cold and drought, yet it cannot tolerate dampness. This makes it ideal for growing on balconies, flowerbeds, in flower gardens, and borders where sufficient sunlight and good drainage are provided. Seeds are sown after the threat of frost—typically in April—at a depth of 0.5–1 cm with an interval of 35–40 cm between plants.

The seed packet weighs 20 g (net) and contains about 1 g of seeds. The plant develops quickly: from sowing to the start of flowering, it takes approximately 70 days. Due to its decorative appeal, resilience to adverse conditions, and ease of care, alyssum is often used as a background plant in gardens and for cutting in bouquets.
