Tulip Snow Parrot

The Genetic Architecture of Snow Parrot: Defense and Aesthetics

Snow Parrot is a member of the Parrot tulip group (Tulipa Parrot), which dictates its complex morphology. Unlike standard goblet-shaped varieties, the petals of Snow Parrot have undergone selective modification: they exhibit deep lacerations, folding, and wavy margins that mimic the plumage of exotic birds. Technically, this is achieved through perigone instability, which creates the distinctive 'ruffled' effect during its mid-season bloom.

Phytopathological Resilience

The key advantage of this hybrid is its resistance to soil-borne pathogens. The breeding program focused on mitigating risks critical to the cultivation of Parrot tulips:

• Fusarium Wilt (Fusarium oxysporum): The hybrid possesses an enhanced immune response against basal plate rot, which is crucial during storage and forcing.
• Verticillium Wilt: The plant's vascular system is structured to prevent xylem occlusion by fungal mycelium, ensuring stable nutrient conductivity throughout the active growth phase.

Agronomic Parameters

The plant reaches a medium height, making it ideal for cut flowers and mid-tier garden beds. The color is pure white, void of secondary pigments, which requires strict nitrogen management to maintain petal density. Given moderate irrigation and high-quality drainage to prevent moisture stagnation at the root zone, the variety exhibits excellent stalk uniformity.
