Pelargonium Flamingo

Greenhouse Cultivation and Handling

The 'Flamingo' pelargonium, developed by the Federal Research Center for Subtropical Science of the Russian Academy of Sciences, is engineered for efficient greenhouse and container management. From an operator's perspective, this variety is highly manageable due to its naturally compact growth habit, which significantly reduces labor costs associated with pruning and growth regulator applications.

Operational Guidelines

• Container Maintenance: The variety thrives in 3–5 liter pots. Its root system is vigorous yet well-contained, allowing for efficient space utilization in commercial displays or greenhouse benches.
• Irrigation and Nutrition: 'Flamingo' requires precision in moisture control. In greenhouse settings, drip irrigation with monitored drainage is ideal. To maintain the intensity of its signature pink blooms, a consistent potassium-heavy fertilization schedule is recommended.
• Maintenance and Durability: This variety shows excellent recovery capabilities. Following sanitary pruning, the plant regrows quickly, maintaining its ornamental value throughout the season. The plant's genetic adaptation to subtropical conditions simplifies the environmental control required in professional glasshouses.

Designed for durability and visual appeal, 'Flamingo' performs consistently in controlled environments, offering a reliable, low-maintenance solution for high-density planting in greenhouses.
