Pelargonium YASHMA

Pelargonium 'Yashma': Subtropical aesthetics for your interior

The 'Yashma' variety, developed by the FRC Subtropical Scientific Center of the RAS, represents the essence of ornamental horticulture. This bush-type Pelargonium is genetically adapted to conditions requiring resilience and predictable development, making it an optimal choice for interior design, winter gardens, and conservatories.

Agrotechnical features and appearance

The key feature of 'Yashma' is its ornamental value, which persists even outside the active flowering period due to its variegated leaves. Green foliage with a contrasting pattern allows the plant to serve as an architectural element in room design. Pink flowers complement the overall palette, creating a soft accent without excessive visual noise.

• Growth habit: Compact bush. Ideal for windowsills, shelving units, or group compositions.
• Light requirements: Requires high-quality lighting to maintain the vibrancy of the variegated leaf pattern.
• Fragrance: Absent, which is an advantage for bedrooms or nurseries where strong scents might cause discomfort.

Practical application

Choosing the 'Yashma' variety is driven by the desire to enhance an interior with minimal labor input. The plant does not require complex pruning, as the bush shape is inherently established by the originator. This reduces the number of agrotechnical operations: regular watering, application of complex fertilizers during the growing season, and timely removal of spent flower stalks to stimulate further blooming are sufficient.

Under indoor conditions, the variety demonstrates excellent adaptability to temperature fluctuations, a trait characteristic of breeding stock from the subtropical region. This makes 'Yashma' a reliable tool for professional plant stylists and hobbyists who value consistent results without the need for creating overly complex microclimatic conditions.
