Tulip Paul Scherer

The Benchmark of 'Black' Tulips

The Paul Scherer variety holds a firm status as one of the darkest representatives in Triumph tulip breeding. Its market arrival addressed the demand from landscape designers and florists for deeply saturated, coal-black shades while maintaining the classic, elegant cup shape.

Agronomic Profile

As a classic Triumph variety, it is recognized for its structural stability. The medium-height plant features a robust stem, providing excellent resistance to lodging even in open-field conditions. However, the variety's primary value lies in its genetic resilience: Paul Scherer demonstrates significant resistance to white rot, phoma, and powdery mildew, which simplifies maintenance and reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications.

Market Application

Due to its late blooming period, this tulip is ideal for creating contrast in compositions once early varieties have faded. The deep, intense black of the petals pairs perfectly with white or brightly colored tulips. Whether for professional forcing businesses or private gardens, the variety combines aesthetic impact with low-maintenance durability, making it a reliable choice for any high-end landscape project.
