Tulip Margarita

Optimized Production and Plant Health

For large-scale forcing, the 'Margarita' tulip variety stands out due to its robust genetic resistance. Operators benefit from significantly reduced operational costs regarding chemical protection: the variety shows proven tolerance to Fusarium wilt, Verticillium wilt, Tobacco mosaic virus, and Cladosporium. This biological stability ensures a higher rate of marketable yield and reduces the risks associated with pathogen outbreaks in greenhouse environments.

Operational Performance

The 'Margarita' is a tall-growing, early double tulip. From an operator's perspective, this height is an asset during mechanized harvesting and automated packing lines, where consistent stem length minimizes waste. The density of the double bloom, combined with its structural integrity, makes this variety highly reliable for logistics, as it retains its aesthetic appeal and shape even after prolonged transit.

Management and Cultivation Tips

• Soil Management: While highly resistant to fungal diseases, optimal drainage remains essential to ensure the longevity of the bulbs.
• Market Strategy: With a mid-season flowering profile, 'Margarita' fits perfectly into spring sales cycles, offering a consistent pink hue that remains in high demand.
• Maintenance: Due to its natural resistance, the cultivar requires less intensive intervention, allowing for more predictable scheduling and labor allocation.

Choosing 'Margarita' is a practical decision for any greenhouse manager focusing on efficiency and quality. Its ability to maintain decorative standards without constant, aggressive treatment makes it a cost-effective choice for modern flower production.
