Tulip Gusto

The Fringed Tulip Excellence

The 'Gusto' tulip represents a distinct choice for growers who prioritize a balance between exotic aesthetics and practical field performance. Classified as a fringed tulip, it stands out for its needle-like petal edges, which transform the flower into a textured centerpiece of any landscape or floral arrangement.

Resilience and Pathology Protection

Market reputation for 'Gusto' is anchored in its robustness. In a category often plagued by fungal issues, this variety offers a reliable defensive profile. Growers value its ability to withstand:

• Foliar pathogens: Notable resistance to Alternaria and Peronospora, ensuring the foliage remains healthy and vigorous throughout the growing season.
• Root health: Exceptional resistance to Fusarium and Phoma, which significantly reduces the risk of crop failure and bulb loss during storage and early development.

Performance Characteristics

As a mid-season bloomer, 'Gusto' bridges the gap between early-spring bulbs and late-season varieties. The plant reaches a medium height, providing a stable, upright posture that resists lodging in windy conditions. The color palette—a striking gradient of red and orange—is further accentuated by the fringing, creating a play of light that remains vibrant throughout its bloom period.
