Tulip Leda

Leda Tulip: Reliability Meets Aesthetics

The Leda tulip, belonging to the prestigious Triumph class, is a top choice for commercial flower production and professional landscaping. Known for its medium-height, sturdy stems and striking red-to-lilac petals, this variety offers a perfect balance of ornamental appeal and agricultural resilience.

Field Performance and Disease Resistance

What sets Leda apart in a practical farming scenario is its inherent resistance to soil-borne pathogens. Specifically, it exhibits strong tolerance against potato wart and golden potato nematode. For farm managers, this is a strategic advantage: it allows for the cultivation of high-quality bulbs on land previously used for solanaceous crops, significantly reducing the need for aggressive soil fumigation or chemical intervention.

Commercial Applications

• Forcing and Production: As a mid-season bloomer, Leda is ideal for managing seasonal sales cycles. Its robust structure ensures excellent post-harvest shelf life and ease of transportation.
• Landscaping: The vivid transition from red to lilac tones makes it a preferred choice for municipal parks and private gardens. Its medium height provides the perfect balance between visibility and wind resistance.
• Crop Management: The variety thrives in well-drained, sandy soils. Its resistance profile simplifies the crop protection schedule, allowing for more sustainable management practices compared to more sensitive varieties.

Leda represents a practical, high-yield solution for growers who prioritize crop health without compromising on the visual standard required by the cut-flower market.
